Got out early with my blue/black P&J and to my favorite rock pile. First cast......hung on the rocks and break off . Second cast....ditto . Not a good start. Third cast yields a sub-2 pounder. Fourth cast......repeat of casts #1 and #2 . I was thinking that Dicks would not open until 9 am and I only had 2 jigs left. Stay on the rock pile or move to safer water? I stayed on the rocks. Fifth cast and this 4.8 pounder slams it.
Catch a few more sub-2s..............then a very, very faint tap and it does not move........set the hook.........5.25 pounder.
A few more sub-2s and I move on to another lake. A skinny 3.2 pounder.
A few more dinks and move to lake #3.........only one bite.........3.3 pounder.
Best 4 fish went 16.55 pounds
Might try later this afternoon after the rains to get that 5th keeper and shoot for 20 lb total?
