I went out there mainly to record some underwater video with my Countour camera. Unfortunately visibility was worse than expected.
This is what it looks like in 10ft of water looking horizontally. The camera needed to be about a foot away and aimed down to actually make out the bottom.
Getting near 30ft and deeper it was completely black. I did manage to catch one white perch. That was the first time catching one there in cold water.

Any pics of the bottom or structure?

There's not enough visibility to see anything that I haven't already seen during the drought. I'd need a powerful light in order for the camera to see anything where it's deep.

Santa is giving me a Lowrance Elite 4 DSI which I plan to mount on my Hobie and am interested to see how well the DSI picks up all the rocks and related structure at BCR. Where did you launch. Last time I was there I had to carry the yak down from the church to the dock at Mount Hope Rd as the road was closed.

I'm interested to hear about your experience. I've been eyeing the same unit but have been hearing mixed opinions on the dsi.
Thanks!

I've been launching from Reservoir Rd. Ever since the construction started the gate on Reservoir Rd has been open which makes it even easier.

What are they building at the Mount Hope Road launch?

Not completely sure other than paving or regrading Mount Hope Road down to the lake and associated underground utility relocations. You can still park at the church lot and carry your yak down. I stopped by on Tuesday to check it out and spoke with an air-track drill operator who didn't have a clue about the schedule but the sign along Belmont Ridge Rd says closed until December 1st....obviously like most construction projects they are WAY behind schedule!
Either way, should be improved access when they are done. Based on the current conditons, I suspect another month or two........ if not longer.

Thanks for the quick response. I am really liking all the improvements.
