Live lined eels for four hours monday night for some big stripers. Guess they are not at the ships yet. Hopefully they will be this weekend. We have heard of a total of 3 caught at kipto so far. I think it has to do with this real warm weather we have been having, but that is about to change..

They are on the pilings of the CBBT...tight. I think you are right, they will get near the ships as well. I am sure you will see Joe down there if he can convince his wife.

RedSkin,
Kipto Striper is completely over-rated. many people only report when they caught a fish out of 20 trips. So we don't see 19 skunks.
But when you fish with some people, your chance is pretty good.
I may or may not make it even after serving dinners to my wife for 5 days.
Anyway, There is a group of people coming down there this weekend. Thery know the pilings (CBBT) for red drum, tog, and striper near shore ( I am not talking about the first island). They are upper Chesapeake Bay (DC area) anglers.
Give me a call at 703-282-3816 for more details. or send me an email at captain_JoeAn@yahoo.com

Yeah, that's why I haven't gone down there. I don't want to make a 4 hour drive to get skunked.
Most of the Kipto fishermen I've talked to had to make several trips before they caught anything, and some of them still haven't caught one. The internet reports make it seem like everyone catches a cow.

Charlie- Thanks for posting. No fishing outing is a failure 'cause you learn from it. And by posting it, you learn even more from others who have been there and done that.
Anyone can catch fish when they are on a bite......

Yeah it sucks getting skunked. Happened again last night, but you learn from it each time.

My bud hooked a huge one last year at kipto on the yak when we were 10ft from each other. he was gone after he set the hook...
