The Rivah is low but you go when you can go.

Bob and I went out with Chris today. We went early and it was a beautiful morning that turned into a beautiful day. My only wish was for a little more cloud cover but what the heck...no wind, rain, sleet or snow!

At our 1st spot, we (Bob) caught a couple but we got our hineys handed to us by some angry fish. At times, they were crashing bait which is exactly what the did to our baits.

Bob was throwing a Whopper type bait and got crushed by one of those angry (and kinda big) smallies that did not stay on. I got a couple of nice hits as well but nothing to show for it.

So we drifted some more.

I got nailed by a nice one after I threw my fluke on top of the rock and bought it down into the water. I was on for a second and then I broke off. A clean cut.

Later, we were throwing towards a downed tree and Bob gets smashed again but no hook up. I follow with the fluke and BAM, he smashes my bait and nothing to show for it.

Then I got one after a long cast and it was like a road runner coming at me. I could never catch up to it and he got off by the boat.

Lots of action for sure!

Then Bob got a couple of nice ones...

...on top water. The biggie was around 19'. And fat!

Rest stop.

We had way more hits and misses than landed fish 9 or 10). And the ones I caught were all wanna be 20's! lol That's a good sign. Kinda.

Lunch was at Big Belly's and they came through again.

And we had the river to ourselves.

Today was an awesome day to be on the river!  Congrats on getting out and you and Bob hooking some chunks.  I am jealous.  With the river at 1.2 feet, I am beached for now.  Very cool report.

Always wishin' I was fishin'

awesome report and food pics.  Sounds like you guys had a great time and I tend to look at the brighter side of losing/not hooking up a fish.  At least there were crazy hits!

It was plentiful but not terrible. Still, you would pick some up on some retrieves.

At least if you didn't do a lot of catching, you were getting the hits.  Still a day on the river is a win
