Back up plan

Since I was the one who dropped out of float with George and couldn't drive that far to fish, a safe stretch of river, went with a backup plan to chase largemouth.  Water temps were 45 on the main lake and got up about 47 when I left and then by the end of the afternoon the codes were 51 in the back of them.

Try to concentrate on drop-offs on the deeper side and a big underwater hump in the middle of the lake. Through a few different things but couldn't get much action.  I did get this nice little 15 on the good old Red rattle trap on point. That was the first fish of 2026 and felt good to feel the tug even if it was the wrong color ??? ??

Mmm.  My original post didn't take?

Glad you got out Doug.  And nice fish to boot

That largemouth has an interesting lateral line.  Wonder if it was the product of a LM mating with a spot?
