With temperatures forecasted to be 80 and cloudy, how could I not be on the river on a Saturday. Met up with a buddy I haven't fish with in a couple years and did about a 5 Mile float.
I managed to find a few within the first 30 minutes or so on a suspending jer ait and the old reliable light green and dark green swim bait that is usually a producer. Biggest of those went about 14 in.
We got to a bend in the river that has a deep hole and it's just a real nice area got it and my buddy caught a couple on a crawl including one that hit about 18 in. It was certainly a nice little chunk. I had one that looked about 16. Follow the jerkbait in and turn away right at the kayak.
We kept floating and the stand-up minnow on a jighead wasn't working so I switched over to a craw myself. Promptly caught one about 14 in. The bite kind of died for a while. After that. I did put a Cinco on and caufght a few small ones in an area. A little over halfway into the float, I gotta my chunk for the day. Hit the craw and some shallow water behind a rock. Right at 18 and 1/4 in
I think I ended up with 9 or 10 for the day and not sure how many my buddy caught. They weren't super active but we managed to find a few and had some fun
