Was out of town recently and bought myself a new used boat. Kayak was in excellent shape, good price, and would work as a replacement for my old one. Bonus is Ernie got a paddle out of the deal. Don't need it so it'll go to the Hero's.
While there got in a couple days of fishing.
First day was wet, thunder, lightning, and got a dam release - all this stirred up the fishing and the big ones came out to play.
The next day was non-stop action but nothing over 15". Can't even guess to how many fish we caught. It was almost every cast. They were wolf packing in spots.
Fun stuff!

That new yak 10' or longer?
And that ain't your new yak that you're standing on!
Glad the catching was good!
And no thanks on the rain (or snow), lightning and thunder.

10'. Same boat as the old one except older. This one made by Wilderness Express. Current yak made by Perception. Both poured from the same molds.
I'm standing on a River Rocket. Ferrari on the water. I was also standing on a Hog Island.

On day 2 hooked a beast of a fish
After a 5 min drag pulling fight, I finally saw color. Hooked into a huge flat head catfish. The fish didn't fight like the channels I'm use to so was hoping for a beast of a smallie. The fish finally bent the hook and got away? I was fishing a swimbait on a 2/0 Gamakatsu #114
What a fight!
