Went to Pavilion after work to see if I could get a bass. No bites for 20 minutes, and then it happened again! Solid hookup and 6-lb line screaming off my spool..........almost got 125 yds spooled. Fought this one for 25-30 minutes and had a crowd of 10-12 onlookers......as folks walked by, they just had to watch the battle . Got it up close to shore and had to go in after it. Up to my knees in freezing water (pants were rolled up). Got it out barely......it was so heavy and 4-1/2 feet long. I estimate it weighed 75-80 lbs. After a few pics, it was released unharmed and swam away.

There are bigger ones in there . The pic just does not do the fish justice as far as girth (it's rolled back towards me hiding the true belly-to-dorsal fin depth). And my jacket and jeans were completely slimed. Wife wanted me to take a shower after I got home..... reeked of fish smell

Holy mackerel...I mean holy crap...I mean Holy Carp!! A huge fish...and being hooked in the tail...it would even be harder to land it. My guess is that about 95% of us would not have had the patience and skill to land it. Great accomplishment for a VERY skilled fisherman. Congrats Curly!!

Just showed my sister this picture. She recognized Curly. She dated Greg like 15+ years ago.
