Anybody have any experience with Honduras?

Right my girlfriend and I are making plans to go to Roatan at the end of September. She got dive certified in Cancun back in January.  So now it's my turn to get certified before we go.  Roatan seems like one of the best places in the world to dive.  Of course I'll make some time to catch some fish too.

Re: Anybody have any experience with Honduras?

Some of the best dives I have ever done were actually in the Florida Keys.  Pennekamp is really a nice reef.  I was able to take my dive training/classroom course here in the Northeast and then do my certification dives down in Florida.  It is SOOOO much better than wearing a 1/2 inch thick wetsuit, in freezing cold water, and diving in a Quarry with 5 ft visibility.  If you have to pay a couple hundred for the certification dives, you might as well do them in nice warm water.  The airfare is cheap and it is worth the trip.  Your girlfriend should even be able to dive with you.  The actual testing part of each dive was only about 5 minutes.  The rest was a nice guided tour with the dive master as my dive partner.  Just a suggestion.

I bet Roatan will be amazing!!!
