Since I am home all day why not cook a classic french dish inspired by Julia Child's famous Coq Au Vin. It is simmering really slow and will be ready in two hours. No pearl onions (sad face) but I have the sauce spot on and I will thicken at the very end.. house smells wonderful.
While down Richmond we found a liquor store that had #5 White Dog from Buffalo Trace and a very rare bottle of the Cream Bourbon also from Buffalo Trace. I have two bottles of Stewart's Root Beer in the fridge for our dessert beverage of Bourbon Root Beer Float. Shots will be served shortly.
Making a leftover doughnut pudding with a strawberry compote also for dessert.
Just emptying the fridge.

Almost made that last night but instead made Pork Bolognese over fettuccine with broccoli/cheese sauce on the side. Will finish it tonight. Man it was good!!
Just finished shoveling a path from the front door to garage.....4' drift made it hard work. No need for a workout today....just got a week's worth in. And an Olive Cain was smoked....but my wife was ticked because smoke kept blowing towards her!
Thankfully, my sons gave me lots of porters and stouts for Christmas. Will break my rule of only one.....

I'm having beef stew from costco lol. Just had to throw it in the slowcooker, will last me until we are digged out haha.
I've been seeing Buffalo Trace a lot lately. I've been buying the mini bottles to try a different kinds without being stuck with a 750ml. I'll have to add it my list of things to try. Tonight: The Macallan 12yr.
