Rod Tip Repair

Any suggestions for rod tip repair in Northern Virginia. I was holding the tip of my pole trying to unhook a very large cat at 4MR and lost my footing a bit and took the tip of the rod with me.

Re: Rod Tip Repair

Buy a rod tip kit from Dicks that includes 3-4 different size tips and a tube of hot melt glue.  Works likea charm. big_smile

Re: Rod Tip Repair

What Curly said unless you have a high end rod. If that's the case, take it to Phil at Rod & Reel Repair in Cherrydale. He will put on a real nice titanium tip if you tell him to.

Time to go fishin' again!

Re: Rod Tip Repair

I agree with Curly and Ernie. I've replaced two tips in the past year and both rods are as good as new. Cheap and easy...

Re: Rod Tip Repair

If you've been longing for a new rod ... now you have an excuse.

LoL

To do it right, you may need to move some of the top guides around.

If you know how to do it, it's an easy afternoon fix.  If not, take it to someone who does.
