Almost perfect....

Max Scherzer has pitched (back to back) 2 of the greatest non playoff games I have ever witnessed. His perfect game was taken away by a bush league play when a player (wearing heavy elbow armor) leaned into a pitch this spoiling the perfect game. Max still came out of it with a no hitter.

And that player? He should sit tomorrow because he will get plunked...if his teamates haven't already. No way he pulls that move if his elbow is exposed. He would be on the DL if that were to occur.

Re: Almost perfect....

Agree 100%.  I ran through rain and lightening to get to a TV to watch the end of the game (cable went out at the place we were eating at the time).  I don't care what level baseball it is.  If a pitcher is down to his last out of a perfect game you make him earn it as FAIR and HONEST as you can.  That was really a bad move on the batter's part.  I saw it the same way Ernie did.  That elbow pad extended another 5 inches below the elbow!

REALLY impressed with Scherzer.  Twice in a row he has pitched amazing games...and he can hit too!!!

Also glad to see Harper get right back in the lineup and hit a HR.

He had more hits (2) in his last 2 games than the opposing players (1)......

Re: Almost perfect....

I'm glad I tuned in yesterday.  I've usually got something else going on so I don't see many games.  Got the fishing done early and then chilled at home watching the game.

Escobar-not my kind if guy, but quite a ballplayer.

Solid game with lots of our regulars on the bench.

Re: Almost perfect....

Strasburg looked strong, as did Fister

As you obsetve, the DL list has fostered the development of of alternative talent.

Harper should have had a pinch runner after he pulled up lame on that doubke. He needs to be protected from himself at times.

I am no fan of Mr Williams
