They face off on April 21-23 at Nationals Park.
If I had to pick one over the other today....Trout hands down!

I agree on stats and performance. I think Harper is more exciting to watch, brings more passion to the game, and motivates the team more.

I would like to see Trout like we see Harper. I think that hid is just as exiting and has better fundamentals.

Trout definitely.

Let's see where they are in October-
Bryce has been coming on strong, but needs to settle Down.
He tries for too many impossible outs.
Espinosa has been doing well. I thought he was on his way out of pro ball.
Big homer for Werth last night.
That Marlins pitcher was outstanding.
Roark kept the guys in the game.

Espinosa is a VERY good 2nd baseman. He seems more comfortable at the plate and if that continues, he will be a major factor. Rendon is a star at 3rd base. This kid can hit. He pounds the ball.
Werth is worth it...clutch, strong, fast.
Guys like Roark are steals. He is intense.
Lastly, Fernandez will only get better. His catcher certainly did not help him last night.

I have been a huge fan of Rendon since they brought him in. I love everything about that guy. Clutch player, always seems to get a hit when you need it, and a class act who always has a smile on his face when he gets a hit like he is in little league.
The new guys they brought in are holding their own too. I like everything about this team this year.
It will be a shame if they let LaRoche go next year when his contract is up. Another real leader on the team.

They were talking about how many errors laroche has covered for, by making nice grabs on throws to 1st base.
I expect they will let him go. They have a lot of guys to place in the infield-if espinosa keeps hitting, they will move zimm to 1st, and have rendon at 3rd

Zimerman is someone I just have never been that impressed with. Not like the others we have talked about. I would rather see them keep LaRoche.

Were you at Lost Rhino?
No way they let Zim go over LaRoche. He is younger and a better hitter. LaRoche is expensive.
But....what do they do with Tyler Moore and Zack Walters? Get rid of Harper? Span? Werth?
So many good problems to have.
We got damaged goods from Detroit. I said the same thing about Haren last year.

Maybe at first base Zimmerman will be more impressive. He won't have to throw as much on that damaged shoulder. I agree his stats are a bit better than LaRoche. I think it is mostly a realization that his arm is never going to get better and he shouldn't be playing 3rd anymore. First base will be a better place for him. We need to have the rest of this discussion at Lost Rhino!

The guys took it on the chin last night-
Desmond becoming a head case?
Then this 'dropped ball' rule....
Recover now Nats....none of this 'it will get better' talk we heard through the mediocre first half of last season.

Tough day for both of these guys today.
Trout K's 4 times.
Harper doesn't run out an infield dribbler and gets yanked. Good for Williams.
Rendon makes a throwing error a la Zimmerman.
Worth let's one get by him....a pitcher hit it.
I need to see some fire from these guys.
I would rather get skunked fishing than watch that stuff.

You got your wish (getting skunked!)

I am good with we what we were dealt with. A guy that we saw at the dock only caught 2 dinks. A friend at church said the same for Saturday. EVERYONE said last week was on fire.
Whachagonna do?

Smoke a cigar and enjoy the ride!

At least for this series, we get to see both boys in action.

So far...Trout is winning.

Yep.. Really disappointed in the defense and discipline of the team. I still love Harper, but he has to realize that sometimes he has to swing for a base hit instead of a home run.
Offline
Tried bunting w/2 strikes.....

I have no defense for that......he is 21 yrs old.....nobody would expect it......a whim.
Luckily they won. What a finish!!!

He also did not start out running out a routine grounder that was mishandled by Pujols. He did turn on the jets to beat the throw.
And he could have easily thrown out Trout had he not rushed his throw form LF.
I am ready to send him back to the minors....
Trout does everything well and is smooth as silk.
Offline
He was already benched once, so you know Williams isn't happy with him. BUT, he has so much talent, he just needs to make better decisions all around.
Offline
I may be in his head on Sunday.....

Harper to the minors?
He just needs to continue maturing.
He thinks like a 21yr old.
LaRoche has been a bright spot.
Nice to see him playing like his old self again
Espi.osa continues to play well
