The plan was supposed to go fishing with a friend on his boat early on Wednesday morning. He picked me up at 8:50 AM and we got on the water at 10:00 AM. It was already in the mid 90's and blowing 20+kts out of the SW. Not very good timing or fishing conditions!! But I had a back up plan....my kayak. While my friend took our crew tubing and wakeboarding, I paddled around in the sound fighting boat waves and wind.
But I did manage to find a nice point off a creek......
and proceeded to catch a nice speckled trout on the fly rod......
.......and a puppy drum using a popping cork and Gulp shrimp bait.
It was some kind of hot (100+) and after drinking 4 bottles of water in less than 4 hours, I decided to call it a day.

Curly,
In the AMs I either bike (did another 20 miles today) or go out on a boat/kayak. I have looked in the surf and have yet to see life! I did see breaking blues a few times but they were out several hundred yards. I may cruise it on Saturday early before we leave.
Time to go to the oven....I mean, the beach!

No kayak in the ocean for me!! I don't have enough lanyards for the rods. If I take a spill....it all goes down!!

Too funny! Thruth is that the water was too cold! We had west winds all week and blew all the warm water out.
