I got out early and fished from 6 until 12. Water temps were 66-68 degrees and river is just below 2 feet.
I decided to try topwater early and got two dinks on my little popper. First topwater smallies.
The crew team headed my way so I ran upriver. Bite was slow, but this lone swan was cool.
Next bite came on a little craw. Another little guy.
I had something break off my craw. Clean break. Then it got slow. The weather was still nice, so I just floated and tried different lures. I finally got a bite on a Keitech swimbait. Another small fish. A while later I hooked another one on the swimbait. Not big but it was chunky.
After I ate my sandwich, I hooked another smallie about 13 inches on the swimbait.
I heard the choppers coming upriver. Only got one in the frame and almost missed it as it went over me.

It started to get a little hot and I planned to fish until noon, so I headed back around that time. Fish are definitely spawning based on the few bites and size of fish caught. Still a nice morning out. 5 smallies landed.

I was wondering why GPS was disabled on Alltrails.

This weather is something, but getting out early is the key I think. Good day for you and good pics! Now.....where is the sammie pic? That needs to be a requirement for future postings. lol

My wife, the Google it queen, showed me that what I thought was a Swan is in fact, a white goose. Let this be added for the records...LOL.
