Water Rescue - Vessel Taking On Water

Black Walnut Point Rd - Tilghman Island, MD

Multiple rescue units have been dispatched for a water rescue. Reported to be east of Black Walnut Point Road. Called in by the US Coast Guard. This is a work boat with 7 people on board and US Coast Guard advised the boat is taking on water and going down quick!

Update 8:40 AM - Rescue units are requesting a bus respond because with the 7 people in the water, they will need a way to warm them up.

Update 8:49 AM - Rescue boats are struggling with the ice in the bay and some are unable to get the boats out. There is a boat that was able to get to the individuals and have successfully got all 7 people out of the water and safely on the rescue boat.

Update 8:52 AM - Maryland Natural Resources Police have confirmed that the 7 people are all on a boat and headed into land. They are not 100% sure where they are taking them due to the ice.

Update 9:02 AM - No one actually got wet or was in the water. They were all rescued before the boat went down. They are all safe and no further action (medical) will be needed. They also will NOT need the bus.

BTW, I've caught quite a few nice feesh around Black Walnut Point, back in the day.
