We partnered with the Soldier Recovery Unit at Ft. Belvoir to hold the Ft. Belvoir Wounded Heroes Fishing Day for wounded, injured or ill heroes and their families.
It was a nice morning but the humidity and heat crept up during the day. Luckily, there was a slight breeze on the pier which kept everyone fresh.
We had plenty of water.
Lunch (from Mission BBQ) was donated by the 1st Assembly Church of God in Alexandria. Their volunteer crew was outstanding.
We also had volunteers from Culpeper and Andrews AF Base. And many thanks to Joseph for bringing the trailer and organizing the event.
To say the least, everyone had a great time of fishing, fellowship and eating!
Here are some visual aids!

Two of the kids went home with a brand new rod/reel combo. Yep, they were exited. "Snap" was one of the words used.
Great day out despite the humidity.
