I sold the 12 foot jon and bought a 15 foot 1994 Sea Nymph TX-150 pimped out for 10hp limit lake tourneys.  Got a good deal, but plan was to put a hinge on the trailer tongue so I can keep it in my garage.  Long story, but that did not pan out.  I have been doing some work to get it usable for me and I will end up selling it.  Apologies upfront as I forgot my hawg trough, so pictures are not great.  Measurements were done on a 20 inch tape that is on the top front of the back bench.

I got out around 8am and was able to launch with no issue.  Too many ropes on the front as I had not cut the old one off and was using the newer one to launch.



Water was green, but stained from the rain and level had not changed at just under 4 feet at POR.  Water temp was right around 60 degrees.  Cool in the morning, but perfect day, with smoke haze keeping the bluebird skies at bay.

Started a little slow.  Caught my first smallie on the new boat about 9:30am.  It was a 15 incher that bit a skirted twintail grub.





Next was a little guy on a little swimbait.



Next, I caught a bigger fish that inhaled a tube.  Bummed, because it might not make it.  Never felt a bite.



I caught a chubby 12 incher next on George's jig.



Next, I was throwing the little swimbait and swimming it downstream when I felt a pickup.  I set the hook and it felt heavy.  After a nice fight, I netted this fat, old 19 incher.  I completely forgot I had my scale, so no weight.







I won't keep posting pictures of the small ones, but I caught 1 more before lunch and one that self-released as I was trying to lift it in the boat.  Then I got this 15.5 incher on the little swimbait while floating between spots.



Then I got slammed on the swimbait and it turned out to be a catfish.



I got to a spot Ernie knows well from one of our epic outings.  First cast with a tube I felt a pick up right near the boat.  I tried to set the hook, but the huge smallie flew straight out of the water and shook the lure.  It looked to be 19-20 inches.  I cast back out and then got another bite.  This time I was able to hook and land this healthy 16 incher.





I caught a 14.5  and 12.5 incher there also before moving.  I stopped back at another spot and caught a 13 incher before calling it a day.  Ended up with 13 smallies and the catfish.  Missed a few bites on the tube as the fish were "killing" it (bent weedguard) without really taking it.  Tube bite was weird and not felt at all.

Great day on the water and cool encounter with a large hawk dragging a huge branch to shore up it's nest and a male blackbird doing it's mating dance for a female in front of me.  She was not having it.

All was good until landing at the ramp.  Guy working on a jet ski in the middle of the ramp.  I told him I was going to back down and when he tried to start his truck, it did not start.  Theer was a guy behind me waiting to land and a big boat waiting to launch too (reminded me of Ernie with his stogie and take charge demeanor).  I ended up squeezing by and found out I did not get the boat on straight.  I had to wait for all to clear (guy finally started the truck) before having to back in and get wet to straighten the boat.  All in a day there.
