Peacock Bass fishing in Venezuela, 1-31-09
My brother-in-law, Miguel, and a couple of his buddies went fishing on a lake somewhere in Venezuela last Saturday. I will try to get some more details but I have some nice pictures.
If this doesn't get the fishing juices flowing, i don't know what will!

I have not been to Venezuela since I was there in '92 when Hugo Chavez (current president) led a failed coup attempt. There was military action all around us...not fun. I would love to go after some of those monsters but.....
Time to go fishin' again!

Wow. That looks like a LOT of fun. They really have some beautiful colors. And they are real bruisers too.

I have caught the Butterfly Peacock Bass in Florida...big fighters. The ones in Brazil and Venezuela are horses!

I've always wanted to go to South America and go peacock bass fishing.
But for now, I'll just keep them as pets

I just learned that my nephew, Miguel, was throwing a top water Zara-Spook and landed two 4 pounders in just under an hour!
That is sick!
Time to go fishin' again!
