Count me in to help tally. There will be ribs again too since I have my smoker back up and running.
My boys will be with me, I might even bring my dad along.

Woohoo! My wife is working that day so I'm not sure I'll be able to make it this time. I'll try my best to be there though, and hopefully enter my 3yo in the tourney

Another great tourney is now in the books! And...a new leader stepped up for next year so the club will continue!!!
Today, we had 10 HS students from 6 different high schools as well as 4 non HS kids participating!
It was a beautiful day but a little windy!!!!!!
Jackson had big fish with a 3.8 pounder (17.5").
Aria won with 54.7" followed by Jackson with 50.5" and coming in 3rd was Jake with 34".
However, Jake and Niles (co captains of team) spent a lot of time helping others.
In the kids division, Jahmari took 1st w/ 35.5" and Avery came in 2nd.

Great bunch of kids, it's a privilege to help do whatever I can and to ingratiate my kids with them as well. Already looking forward to the fall tourney.

Nice job guys! That carp was a monster!

Sounds like it was a great tourney!! Great job everyone. What's the story on the carp?? That must have been a blast to reel in, hopefully engraving the joy of fishing in that kid forever

I wanted to update everyone on an incident that took place recently...
Jahlil Wormley (caught the big carp above) was shot recently and is recovering, thankfully.
He loved coming out to our tourneys. He is currently staying with Teresa Rodriguez (she brought the kids to the tourney from DC) and is looking for a job. It would be great if he could find something in the fishing industry as he loves fishing! As well, he has applied for DOEE's Solar Works program to learn how to install solar panels. Keep your eyes and ears open for an opportunity.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as this is a lot for an 18 year old. And he's a good kid at that!

Wow. Tough break. I hope things work out as he has his whole life ahead of him. Sending well wishes.

Jahlil is a great kid. What (and how) happened to him was unreal. I won't post it on the forum though.
Those are our (FCO, Wounded Heroes Program) buffs!

That's sad to hear, I hope he bounces back stronger than ever. I watched his youtube videos and he fishes the right way, he's courteous to people around him, and leads his brother by example.
