11-4-2020 trip.
Got a request to fish "Down South" from feller who needed help in navigation and lures of choice for the area in question. Meet at 8am on a very low tide incoming. Ran to the first spot and bowfin popping for air every where. Proceeded to show how to catch them on a little swim bait. Caught three and lost at least 6 or more. Guy was using Ugly Stix and just could not get enough power in the hookset to penetrate the hard mouths. Handed him my St Croix and bingo he get's the hook in with this rod. Perfectly balanced rod with less than 2 grams pressure at the tip. Two more bowfin and three bass later we move again. Next spot snakehead shakes my hook at the boat. Several nice chunky bass and then a driving tour of the area.
What a nice day to be fishing the "Down South" spot..
