IF....we catch fish Friday and IF ....the weather is decent, I will be fishing DC waters on Saturday, November 15.
So....I am looking for a crew for Saturday morning.
I MUST be off the water by noon!
A DC license is required ($6.50), please contact me if you are interested.

I should mention that I want to concentrate on throwin' and not trollin'! I want to set up drifts and work the structure as best as possible....deep.....middle.....and shallow! It's time to break the code! I even want to look way up by the bridge.
If we mark 'em, we are hammerin' them!
A crew of four would be perfect!

Striper?

It is up to my parents. I will let know later today. What time do we have to leave Ashburn? What time will be back in Ashburn around?
Offline
Preliminary, we will leave around 0515 and be back to Ashburn around 1300.

Count me in.

I think Brandon is going too.....we are out to set a new standard on catching these elusive Washington Channel stripers. We usually can catch them trolling. On Saturday, we will cast to them until our arms are sore.

Sounds good. What kind of stuff do you throw at them?

How big of a crew you lookin for? Can I get in on this?

Andrew- you are in. I am taking my boat which is a 21 foot center console. I will bring Charlie and Brandon. We can meet you at Gravley. I will figure out the times later and email you guys.
Charlie- we will be throwing the kitchen sink at them; storm shads, crank baits, rattle traps, top water stuff, hard/soft jerkbaits, jigs, metal etc etc.
I will have a ton of tackle on board so we need to limit what you bring.
The boat is now full!

Should I just bring food and a rod?

All you need is food, drinks and a rod! Bring me a snack too!

I plan on fishing light (medium and/or medium light tackle). 6lb test with proper drag should be good enough for these fish right? O_o

That set up should be fine unless this guy gets on!

Crew....
The weather has turned on us. They are now calling for a 90% chance of rain and some thunder (around 9 AM). The thunder is a concern. Any weather wizards out there that can help me make a go/no go call for tomorrow morning?

Let's keep it as a go but let's meet later......Gravley at 7:15 AM for Andrew and my house at 6:20 AM for Tully & Charlie..
If it's bad when we get there....we can wait it out or go back home. It's worth a shot as long as you have good rain gear and rubber boots!

I have rain gear, but not rubber boots. I have waterproof boots, but what is a little water?

pshh thunder...I caught this guy in thunder!
kidding aside, It's your call Ernie. We can always do this another time. I just checked the weather and it said 100% chance so that's even worst. but sounded like you had some decent luck early today so maybe if we even get out for a little bit it'll be worth it. Again, it's your call.
Just keep us posted. Fishing or extra sleep. both make me happy.

I'm going to wear my waders and a poncho over.

You guys OK with the new times??
Water with cold (50 is considered that) will make you miserable.
If it gets bad, we come in.
Let's make 10 PM the final call....right here on this Forum........

Sounds good! I have neoprene waders I just bought and have never used so I do not know how they work in the rain..would you suggest those or do you think I should just wear the waterproof snap on pants I use in the rain around the Village lakes>
