Re: fish with cancer

I guided just north of Three Mile Island for 5 years 2000-2005 sometimes for a month straight. In 2005 I caught only two fish in three trips and cancelled all the rest for that month. In 2006 I returned to test the waters and only caught one in two days of fishing. In 2007 a group of 10 fisherman fished the same area with me and we caught one fish that had sores all over it. I contacted the DNR for PA and they said it was a normal spring kill and the photos I sent them showed carp and cats and smallmouth all dead in mats along back eddies.

I have not returned but still have a guide friend that has since moved all his trips to Duncannon and away from Swatara.

The four years I guided we caught about 40-80 smallmouth up to 6lbs per day. That is why I would live in a hotel and guide there.
