Fletcher's

Dock update 3/11/15

This past weekend we suffered a minor set back on the dock access and maintenance effort. A section was damaged in the first high water of the season.  The NPS maintenance team has been onsite and promised additional repairs when conditions permit. The boathouse should be ready for opening by the end of March weather permitting!

Fletcher's Boathouse Reopens!!

FFC Fishing Report, River Water Data, Map and update

After a few trials and tribulations Fletcher's Boat House will reopen this Saturday at 7AM.  The new walkway to the existing dock was completed by the the C&O Canal National Park Service maintenance team. Meanwhile the river has been clearing up and running cold with few anglers making an effort. The shad run will be a little late.

FriendsofFletchersCove.org has posted an informative slideshow on its front page which may help many of you better understand the cause of the cove siltation problem. Check it out! The FFC website will also host regular fishing report updates at the address in this link. You will also find an FFC page dedicated to the automated river gauges we use to monitor local river conditions at this link in real time. Make sure to refresh to update. The Fletcher's Outdoor Fun map will be posted to from this site as well.

We are in the process of formalizing an FFC executive committee, organizational goals and partnerships to help insure a long term solution to the cove's issues are explored. More news on our progress will be shared by April. Should anyone wish to participate please contact us at info@friendsoffletcherscove.org

Thanks and please spread the word.

Re: Fletcher's

Late shad run is good for me since I am not free any of the weekends in April hmm I checked my log and last year I was still catching them in May. I must be patient until then.

Together we'll fight the long defeat.
