The After 11 years, I decided to sell my bike. And yes, I did buy a new one that will last me until I can't ride anymore. ![]()

I put it on Craig's List for a fair price. Of course, everyone wanted to low ball me (should have inflated it by $100-$200). But, I stuck to my guns and finally found a buyer (John ) that knew that my bike was in good shape and that it was a good deal.
He paid me my asking price (although I did give him some money back as he was leaving). John was a great guy and I felt good that it was going to a good home. Plus, his kid (Jack) was going to be a beneficiary.
Today, I got this picture....
They did a 68 miler today! Man, how cool is that?

The new owner is a bit younger than me and his average MPH was 1-2 MPH higher than what I average on my typical ride (which is 1/3 what he just did). Oh...and he was pulling his kid too!

Mine is now fixed! David over at River & Trail Outfitters fixed it and smoothed out (melted down) the badly designed Ocean Kayak scuppers!

Good on you Ernie! It always feels so much better when you know the item that you loved goes to a good home. I'm not ready to give up my Fat Chance yet....it's mostly out of fear it wouldn't be loved as much! hahahah

I just got an email from John (owner of my old bike). This is what he said;
Hope your holidays went well.
Been too cold lately to tow Jack (son) around, so have just been doing some power training on the indoor trainer downstairs.
I have found myself slowly modifying the giant though. ![]()
Recently added carbon cages, carbon, seat post (to soak up some road), carbon seat, newish wheels, and bar tape.
I have to say, I really like the triple crank for the hills around here. I have actually found myself leaving the Cannondale inside on hill days. The extra 3 pounds that your bike weighs (20lbs on the nose), does not matter when the gearing is soooooo much better (53/39 with 12/23 out back on the C'dale).
I may actually buy some china carbon 1270gram clinchers for this thing and use your bike in the Frederick Gran Fondo this year.
It fits right in with the fleet. ![]()

This is just too cool! John has transformed that bike to look and fell new.....I wonder if I should have done that? Fact is that my new bike fits me better (not a hill person due to the 2 fake knees) so what i got is perfect. Everyone wins!
