DNR's Work

Saw this video on SH in VA and thought of sharing. Sorry if someone else posted this before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF6OgbVAxS0

I always read Odenkirk's name on this forum and about the work he does. It's nice to finally see it on video.

I would love to experience it in person if anyone has connections. I was going to finish my undergrad (12 years ago) as a bio major until I switched majors at the last minute (I was only two classes away from completing my pre-med requirements). Truthfully to this day I wish I had gotten better advice about careers because I still have a lot of passion for biology and wildlife studies and would love the chance to go on something like this for the experience....

Re: DNR's Work

This is a great video......VDGIF.....I have the pleasure of knowing John since the mid 80's (Carl introduced me to him when he was building a pond)...and I see him on the bike path occasionally (he is in VERY good shape)! He does great work and often speaks at local fishing clubs.

Re: DNR's Work

I got to go out with them once when I was working the concessions at a local lake. I was in college at the time and interested in fisheries science so they let me join them on an electroshocking trip. John Odenkirk was the lead biologist then as well and it was a lot of fun. Don't have any connections though, if I did I would certainly do it again. I signed up to volunteer with VDGIF a while back, I was hoping maybe electro surveys were something they needed help with!

Bryan- I will shoot you his email. Ask him and he will let you come on one of the trips. Curly does it all the time.
