World Cup- US beats Ghana

So I watched it a bit.....Nats are off tonight....Ghana seemed to control the ball and pass much better than us guys.

A player MUST be as good an actor as he is a player.

Refs call the weirdest things. There is no foul and they call one. Someone holds and throws another player down and play resumes. I wonder what hockey players think? Reminded me of the old WWF days.....

For the record, I played 2 years in HS (my way of staying in shape for baseball). I do not recall such shenanigans.

The kid that scored the winning goal will not sleep tonight...good on him.

Re: World Cup- US beats Ghana

I love watching soccer/football (it really makes you wonder how American Football got its name considering it's not played with the foot), and have played in school and years after.  For some reason, I always find myself rooting for other teams other than the US team.  I mean, it's an international sport, but not an American one, so I always feel drawn towards the passion from other countries.  No offense to the US Mens soccer team...but I much preferred watching the US Womens team.

Re: World Cup- US beats Ghana

Why is it (happened to an American yesterday who was limping arund) that the player gets hit, writhes in pain, but play goes on and he gets back up like a rabbit and chases the play down as if nothing happened. How do they do that? Amazing recovery powers those footballers!
