Guys,
I volunteer with Friends of Homeless Animals in Aldie. On Saturday, May 17, FOHA will be bringing a number of dogs to the Ashburn Pavilion. I know you are all outdoor people which means you must be dog/cat people as well, right. Following is the FOHA description of the event.
"We have another great adoption event coming up next Saturday 5/17 from 10-2. Ashburn Farm HOA is kind enough to invite us to their community pavilion twice a year to promote FOHA and show off some of our awesome dogs! This is a shared event with Team Meow!! This event is outside but has plenty of shady tables and benches under the pavilion. It's located next to the lake and small playground and tends to be a nice relaxed environment. There are plenty of quiet places to walk and this is a great event to give dogs a chance to shine outside of the shelter environment!!"
This is the FOHA website - http://foha.org/. A great organization well worth supporting.
Stop by, say Hi, and get the opportunity to meet/pet some fantastic dogs and cats who deserve a soft place to land.

I can't do it....for good reason.
I used to dislike dogs. Could not stand them. Cats even worse.
But a friend of mine had 2 Rots and I spent a weekend at their house. I had to like them or they would have eaten me. Not really...they were so gentle. That started my change.
Then my oldest son adopted a dog. We get him every 2 months of so and he loves being here. Thus, I now love dogs 'cause Tucker helped me get over it.
So if I go, I would adopt one for sure....so I can't go. Not quite ready.
This is a good thing you are doing Doug!

Man, if only my wife wasn't working...this would have been a perfect opportunity to get her a dog, right in our backyard!

You guys should come on out. I'll introduce you to DaVinci (Aussie/Beagle mix) and then watch you guys duke it out over who gets to take him home.
