Lake Anna Questions

I will be taking the family, and my two yaks, to Lake Anna, VA, for a week's vacation in mid-August. Renting a waterfront home on the private side. Has been many years since I fished at Lake Anna, and those visits were with a friend on the public side.

Any recommendations regarding yak fishing on the private side would be greatly appreciated...Might also want to get a guide for early in the week. Any recommendations for someone who guides on the private side? If not, how about the public side?

Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Lake Anna Questions

Not sure how many guides work on the private side but I would call Chris McCotter.

The only time I have fished that side (which is much warmer than big lake) is when it's colder out. I suspect the far away coves might be cooler than the outtake area (from nuclear plant). My understanding is that there are few (if any) stripers on the warm side but lots of bass and bream.

Time to go fishin' again!
