Anybody know some public northern/central VA lakes that get good vegetative coverage in the Summer?
Pretty much all of the lakes and ponds that I normally fish just have scattered wood cover and slime algae. I'd like to find somewhere with lots of milfoil, hydrilla, lily pads, spatterdock, anything.

In early 2010 Lake Frederick had really nice grass. Haven't seen it since, not sure what happened.

I've noticed the same thing at a couple other lakes. I think the state has stocked grass carp in a bunch of lakes. I guess most people don't like the green stuff, but there's nothing I love more than a sea of matted grass or pads.

Yeah, the Potomac is a great option, just a little bit of a drive for me. I didn't get up there at all in 2011...may try to put the yak in there sometime this year.
