After launching the carol lynn III I fished a local pond with a buzzbait for 45minutes and landed 2 bass and missed 2 hits. I need to work on not missing fish on the buzzbait.

The setup is critical, a 7ft medium action rod and slow the buzzbait down... The trick is not to look at the buzzbait. Make the cast, bring it to the surface and then look away. The sound takes longer for you to respond. Hence allowing the fish to take the bait without you yanking it out of his mouth. and also whip a Gamagatsu trailer hook on it!

That makes a lot of sense because when it started to get dark was when I was actually hooking the fish as I could barely see the buzzbait. What does the 7' rod do compared to my 6'6" med rod?

The longer rod has two advantages, longer casting distance and better fish control due to the strike coming at or near cover. Let me know when u want to go. l was out knocking the dust off my buzzbaits last night...
