bro and i canoed ashburn lake from 9am-2pm. bro caught 2 nice fish early, and i one. after about 11am, it was got hot, fish stopped eating. was using a swim bait, and an orange weightless plastic worm along the shores closest to pool.

if you're beating the bank that's why the bite slowed down or died, it's summer now, target transition from deep to shallow or structure in deeper water, feel your way around with a jig or heavy t-rig, you'll still catch dinks up shallow but for the most part, the big fish have moved off the banks

Based on what I saw yesterday while cruising Cedar, Thai is correct. I saw lots of little guys as I drifted the shallows. The bigger marks were deeper.
The only big one that were shallow were the frogs....I had two monster ones dive out when I spooked they...big enough for a meal!
