Got out on the ABCs this afternoon for crappie.
Started at Beech an could not find a willing crappie anywhere . Finally something took my crappie jig.........was coming up yellowish........thought that maybe I snagged a coy.......nope the second yellow perch I've ever caught from Beech.......but it was a monster! Looked like it was about to burst.........it was so full of roe.
Headed down to Alder. Hard to believe that algae is already growing in Alder! Saw Ernie doing his power walk while I was fishing.
First crappie was a punk black crappie.
Next crappie was a beast at 15.75" Very pale colored and must have been hugging the bottom all winter....I think it is a white crappie.
Ended up with 14 crappie in all..........

Great report!
That YP must be a descendant of the YP I transplanted from Cedar after they drained it.
And that spec is huge!

Maybe it is the same fish?

It's been 10-12 years since Cedar was drained but it could have been a small one then. Regardless, very cool catch!
