Cancelled 3 trips this weekend.

This weather is not kind at all. Sometimes the hardest part of guiding is not fishing. It ties my stomach into knots as I hit every weather site I can find.
Looking for heavy rain and winds to 30 mph on Sunday. Think I made the right decision. Cold wet and miserable is not a great trip. Oh well.

So I will head for the Honda Outboard Parts store and get some must needed repair parts for my jet boat. Maybe fix the dishwasher if I can. Got to do something and would prefer to be outdoors doing it.

So just to get a perspective if you had older than 60 years old clients would you drag them out?

Yes....take 'em!

Today's f'cast was a joke. I cancelled fishing and am paying the price for it now (regret). Could have fished at least a 1/2 day.

Yesterday's forecast was doom and gloom. We had a great day and a great time out on the bay. We piggy backed to the fishing grounds and it was just fine.

Can't say anything about Sunday, was not planning to fish.

Tough call Capt Mike, On one hand a group of guys who have been looking forward to fishing with you for maybe months. On the other hand miserable conditions and possible safety concerns.

Safety rules, you made the right call.

Re: Cancelled 3 trips this weekend.

Well I made the right call for today .. just got back from the river and the fog was still thick. Could not see markers.. Rain or not that fog was not safe.

However the crew for Sunday still want to fish in the rain. Wind will really kick around mid-day but they want as many hours of fishing that are doable.
So put on the boots and the heavy rain gear for Sunday a fishing report will be issued.

Re: Cancelled 3 trips this weekend.

Here is an interesting tip from a non plumber type like me. First let say I can rewire a car and rebuild the engine in two days. I can weld and chop  the top of old cars. Heck I can even build a deck with built in hot tub. Put a roof on a house and install solar panels. But I seem to always have issues with plumbing.. For instance my dish washer had water standing in the bottom of it so I replaced a kinked dish washer drain line. Still water in it. Noticed the dish washer never made any sounds in the sink when draining. Gosh I hope the pump did not go bad. It all started when the garbage disposal died. I replaced the garbage disposal and after that the dish washer had standing water. So after replacing the kinked up line and a few trips to hardware store no success. But this time water just leaked all over the under side of the disposal. I removed the hose and stuck my finger in the dishwasher connection and hit a plug. Removed the disposal and sure enough I had never knocked the plug out of the dishwasher drain connection.

Lesson to all. Never ever let me do plumbing at your house.

Next will be a rocking toilet and the wax seal. Might need to rent an Outhouse that week.

big_smile big_smile big_smile  You said "rocking toilet" and I pictured a toilet and rocking chair combined.  For a second I wanted one (except the whole sloshing water thing)!!!  big_smile big_smile big_smile

I was about to give my $.02 worth, but decided I should keep my nose out of your toilet. Good luck.

I've done this before - a classic case of not reading directions before installing. Seemed silly to me at the time to put that in there, until it occurred to me that not every kitchen has a dishwasher.
