So I have this fishing forum as my home page on my stand alone computer at work. One of my much younger co-workers said today as she saw it up on my screen, "pacemaker fishing forum......how appropiate for a bunch of old guys that post about their fishing.......most probably have a pacemaker"

That's funny....especially if she knows about your moo valve.

Many people have asked me about that but you and I know why the site was named. For everyone else, it is a tribute to the boat that almost sank on us at the CBBT back in Dec. of '06. Curly and Jimmy were the crew and Curly was bailing water with a cut up water bottle as fast as any man can move. The water was coming up fast (battery terminal was close) as we headed back to the ramp at a snails pace and we even made a distress call (Pan-Pan), alerting close by boats that we had a potential of sinking.

Here is a picture of the water coming out of the cracked hull.

But we did have a great day of fishing!!

I wondered about the name. Sounds like a scary situation, especially in the winter.

Truth be told...we were all focused on getting back safely and there was no panic. We had a boat off our port that was ready to come get us if needed. We limped back while Curly bailed. Jimmy pinch hit a few times. The bilge was working but could not keep up with the water coming in. It did take us a while to realize that at a certain speed, not too much water would come in...about 4-5 mph

I had a bovine (cow) aortic valve put in to replace my aortic valve in March of 2012.......Moooooooo

What make boat was that? Looks like rusted steel. Kevin and I were with a friend in a 21' starcraft aluminum near Pt Lookout on a rough day. It developed a 12" crack on one of the ribs that caused a lot of excitement. Turns out he had 1 month left on his 10 yr warranty. Starcraft replaced the whole bottom and repainted the boat. It's been in his garage ever since (1983)

It was a Pacemaker. What looks like rusted steel is bare fiberglass underneath the coated shell.

Fiberform was the actual manufacturer. Pacemaker was the model. The floor board was made of 4"x4" pressure treated wood that was sandwiched by Fiberglas. Not a very good formula. Boat flexed when we hit some rogue waves.

"Pressure treated weed"...no wonder you guys looked so happy even as the boat was trying to sink.

Wood.....but nice catcth! I have been without internet service for 3 days so I was tapping away on my phone. Fat thumbs say dumb things....
