Hello all! My name is JC and I have just moved to Ashburn Village from Columbia, MD. I have been fishing for less than a year so I hope to meet up with some of you to learn a thing or two I was sad to leave MD because I had just discovered I lived less than 5 minutes away from the beautiful Middle and Little Patuxent River and start trout fishing for the first time this year. It is a beautiful fishery with trout, all kinds of sunfish, smallmouth, carp, and many others. I briefly looked on the Virginia DGIF site and didn't see anything near Ashburn for trout fishing. Does anyone know of a place near by?

Welcome. Lake Fairfax does some trout stockings. You'll need a VA fishing license first. Plenty of fish in these lakes to catch!

Welcome aboard!

Fairfax county stocks trout (late fall) in several creeks (Holmes, Four Mile etc) in the late fall winter. By now they are mostly gone or will die off as the water raises.

I did see a couple of trout caught at Lake Fairfax (which is stocked) but they will be gone soon.

There are a couple of trout chasers on the Forum, hopefully they will chime in.
