Welcome Aboard!

My boat needs to be run!
It will be cold....high of only 48. High tide is at 8:30 AM in the WC. DC license required.
My plan is to leave my house at 6:55 AM, hook up my boat at Algonkian Park, get on the water (Gravely) by 8:15AM and fish the falling tide for about 4 hours (off the water NLT 1PM).
Throwing lures or jigging for stripers, smallies, LMB, walleyes, blue cats, yellow cats, green cats etc.
Max crew of 4.........probable stop at the Italian Store for a Sub for the way home.

Canceled- splashing the boat Friday instead since it will be a balmy 50!

What time are you splashing the boat on Friday Ernie?
Not sure yet....Mo and I were to fish with Capt. Dennis Fleming on Friday (bay) but the NW wind will prevent us from doing what he wanted to do.
We still need to figure out what we want to do (DC, Severn, Deale). I know that the white perch have schooled up in holes (not yet the very deep water) and we could go jig them up with Toothaches. We shall see.

You would make it 6 at this point (we already had a crew established) so I am erasing you
And most likely, we will still be on the water at 2 since that was the original Friday plan (has been mixed with the Saturday plan).

Osprey and I will be there in the channel Friday morning in his boat! Looks like a rockfish challenge! Total rockfish and big fish honors?

Sounds like I missed the boat on this one... I'm heading down Friday afternoon to meet Charlie at the HRBT, but I thought a DC rockfish warmup would be a great way to start the weekend. Besides, I've never used a sick day, need to figure out how they work before all the fishing is done for the winter!
If anyone has room and plans to be off the water before 12 or 1 let me know!

Yeap, they are counting on you. Long trip to Mt Vernon from Gravely Pt. I've done it and 45 minutes at 28 MPH (once out of the no wake zone). With Friday's winds, more like 75-90 min in Ernie's boat.
Remember Thai, it's a striper challenge.....the 4 of you against me and Bob. We will kick your butts............you can catch all the LMB and SMB you want, but braggin rights are on the stripers !

I don't remember signing up to any challenge.....plus, I have no problems changing venue if the feeshies are at Mt. Vernon.

You didn't, but your crew is on the hook anyway ......without a trolling motor on either boat, LMB and SMB will not be easy with the predicted winds.

Not worried that much about the wind....we can always drift across the mouths of creeks. But every forecast I see has an increased chance of rain.
NOAA DC forecast for Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. Northwest wind between 7 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
NOAA Marine forecast for Friday: WNW wind 6 to 9 kt increasing to 9 to 12 kt in the afternoon. A chance of showers. Waves around 1 ft.

You guys are sure full of it. I'll make my prediction Friday afternoon
Only a little light drizzle in the morning on Friday. Calling for 0.04".......hardly enough to get wet, but I'll bring my rain gear to stay warm .
Water temps are down to 52 degrees...........might be the last good weekend for stripers in DC before they head back down river (45 degrees........and they're gone).
