Full moon??

Saturday??

Yes to both!

We (Chris, Greg and I) started our float just after 8:30a. It was cool, cloudy with some wind.

The water looked good and had a bit of a stain in places. Perfect!

Obligatory 1st fish pics!

I think I caught mine in a paddle tail (underspin) and Greg caught his on a crank.

We caught a few more...I was the camera hound!

One of those came on a ned and the other on the Flat Worm.

Cool root system.

All told we caught @12 smallies and lost another 1/2 dz. Our observation is that they are not all done spawning yet and are not fully committed to eating (based on the hits and lost fish). Or we suck at fishing.

Greg broke off a real nice one on a crank and I also lost a very nice one that broke off my ned. Bad knot? Frayed line? Gots to check the line often!! mad

We had a nice shore lunch of Italian hoagies from the Italian Gourmet in Vienna. We were starving so we devoured them.

While I threw the paddle tail underspin, ned and my trusty Flat Worm, I did throw the crank a few times and then it happened. I got blasted by this chunk!

I was whopping it up for sure.   big_smile Exited to finally get a beast on the crank!

Not to be outdone, Greg followed up with this one...

...not as heavy as mine but a little longer.

BTW, Chris didn't have a measuring device on board so...

It was a great day to be out! Water was @60dF when we got out and only rose 3dF while we were out there. POR gauge showed a little bump while we are out. The wind was a little bothersome at times but we dealt with it. The sun did come out and warmed us up nicely. Fun day for sure!

Time to go fishin' again!

That is a great report!  Congrats on the big fish on a crank!  Greg's big one was a beauty also.  So good to see.  I can tell fun was had.

Congratulations on a great day on the river and Catching a beast On a crankbait. Looks like you might need to throw that more often this summer smile
