Had a nice Drew Estate stogie and fished for 45-50 minutes in very comfortable weather.
Caught 3 LMB, all between 1-2lbs. the bigger one was picture worthy...only if I had my phone.
I took a dusty rod with me that I had not used in a long while. It was custom built for me by Josh Turner (L1Ranger) back in '08. It's a Batson Rainshadow 802.75. I think I need to lighten my quiver a bit! ![]()
In all, I had 4 bites and 1 bite off (most likely a turtle) and I lost the other rigs I had (only took 3 baits with me) to the lure eater structure.

Mission accomplished. Sounds like fun.

Short stogie (RoMa Craft CroMagnon) session.
First cast produced a big take but I was not able to hook it. A few minutes later, this little fatso.

Next cast was a 5-6...incher.
One more bite after that and then the lights went off.
Someone was fishing at Curly's spot. Hope he bought a lot of jigs! ![]()

Probably 10 lbs of lead in that spot!

Fatso! Well-fed pet bass. Nice job.

Pre storm conditions.
Major Times - 3:51 PM-5:51 PM (only got a few minutes of it).
Stogie was another RoMa Craft CroMagnon.
Made a dozen or more casts without a bite.
Then I heard thunder in the distance but I made another cast.
Got a Lightning warning on phone and heard louder thunder.
That's it, gotta go.
But I felt some weight on my line so I set the hook!
For reference, that's a 2500 class Shimano Sustain reel.
Stogie session cut short.
Now we have a light show, thunder and rain.
