Got out early and was on the water before 5:30am. Went to the spot from last trip and the fish were absolutely going nuts as I was positioning to anchor. I started with the Choppo (plopper). Missed a couple and then hooked up with a smallie about 14 inches. After that, I hooked a few more between 13 and 14.5 inches. Fish were cookie cutter. When that slowed, I tried a Berkley 5" Nessie swimbait. Hooked my first smallie on that bait, which was cool. Tried a flatworm and caught a couple on that. Tried the big TRD and caught a couple on that. Tried a Storm sub-wart and caught one on that. Had about 17 at that spot before deciding to move out about 7am.
I caught one on the sub-wart after running a little. Then caught a nice catfish on the Nessie, which was cool. I hooked a catfish on the sub-wart and then a smallie on the TRD. Caught a decent smallie on the sub-wart. All the smallies were between 13-15 inches. Water was stained. Wind picked up and I decided to call it with 20 smallies and 4 catfish. Here are a couple pics. Off the water at 10:15am

I am out of commission for a bit with back pain. Was going to go today, but had to bag it due to residual pain. Seems to be tight muscles, but probably caused by pinched nerves. Got injection and script for PT. Waiting on Tens unit and started doing home stuff today. Bummed, but can't rush recovery.

Bummer. If it's spasms, the Tens unit will work wonders. CRANK it up! ![]()
If a pinched nerve, that's a different dynamic. I think time and PT are probably the solution.
Getting old ain't for sissies!

Back pain is no fun. Good luck with that.

I have a serious back injury from my military time and I agree that it sucks. laying over the couch and letting your legs weigh down help for decompression. But as ernie says....tens unit is pretty awesome for muscle spasms. I have several of them!
