Pacemaker Fishing Forum

I had a chance to spend a few hours on the upper Mississippi (north of Minneapolis / St. Paul) with a old friend last Monday night.  We put in at Anoka and floated a two-mile stretch, and only found a few smallmouth bass . . . these smallies are much different that what we find in the VA rivers . . . the fishing was slow, but my first one turned out to be my biggest of the season.  It measured 16 1/4" . . . we didn't have a scale, but it was probably in the 3 lb range.
