All I heard coming in to work this morning was the radio alarmists calling for lots of rain today and tonight. Anyone following these events?

Rain equals a good bite. I heard the flash flood warnings should expire by 2pm. The weather should be intermittent.

the temp. is wonderfull. i dont think we will get to wet.

I am not worried about rain....lighting is another thing. Last night, we had a light show.

Last night was beautiful and the rain was much appreciated. Let's hope some 4-5lbers appreciated my lures today! haha
BTW - how long a paddle is it to target some smallies towards the dam?

The times I have fished BDR, I have always headed south. I would imagine it's not too much further....easy paddle. The yaks move pretty fast especially if you have the wind at your back.

i would love to catch a smallie. never caught one in my 8 months here.

Goose Creek is where I got my first smallie...light line and a small fluke will do the trick. The Upper Potomac is also good, that is where I got my biggest smallie (this year) during the 4th of July Float.

While there are smallies at BDR, I would not "target" them or expect to catch them. Go after LMB. If you want to catch a smallie, then float or wade the Upper Potomac.

joe just bailed on me for crossbow practice and i cant find anyone to go!

do i need to make other plans?

I caught a 2lb 14oz smallie the first time I fished there. That was the only fish I caught that day. If you are looking at the dam, the bank to the right is where I caught mine and where I've heard most of the smallies are caught.

Dustin- the canoe is doable with one person (ask Dan).....
Offline
that would be great if dan could go.

I meant that Dan had gone solo before. We can wait for him if he is able.

Still can't go fellas. I have a lead on the job search, though!
The canoe is a fine solo fishing vessel. Although, if it gets windy you might have sore shoulders and back tomorrow!
Make sure to make a post about how you all do.

Good news on the job lead Dan...keep us posted!
