i was throwing a white 1/4 bitsy bug w/ a white beavertail, nose-hooked, as a trailer.
i swam the offering, feeling for grass and twitching the rod tip
there were usual size fish, but not many
in the high end of the rear cove, i caught a nice three pounder, in the skinny water where the small storm creek comes in
the bites were very subtle, almost like bluegill nips
i let the rod load up good before the hook set
i worked on around and into the flat above the cove. there have been fish in this area consistently lately...
i caught a very nice bass that may have gone 5 pounds, four to be certain
the strike was almost undetectable, but the rod loaded up heavy. i didnt know how big it was until i hoisted it onto the bank
neither of the big fish displayed any hook marks
