All I wanted today was some pullage......
.....and that we got!
I met up with the crew at 6 AM at Gravely Point. The crew consisted of Jim Rekas, Paul Cuddihy, Gary Moore and Tony Ruth. I have known these fine gentlemen for over 30 years! Fine gentlemen they are, but when they get on a boat....look out. I have never laughed so hard with all the antics and questions.
The best one of the day was "how can you tell the difference between a rockfish and a striper?".
Anyway, we had a ggod time and caught some fish to make it ll that much better!
Here is Gary with the 1st fish....the skunk is off!
We were anchored slightly below Curly and we were marking a ton of fish. However, we could not catch a herring for nothing!
Paul was next up....
....you see what I had to put up with!
Then Jimmy had another cat....here he is with a nice release.
Tony got the big one of the day (I know, they weren't that big but at least we caught them!)
I got into the action with an undersized striper!
After catching 2 blue cats, 2 channel cats and 2 small stripers, we decided to get to the Washington Channel where Curly was having a 30 minute field day!
We ended up catching 3 stripers in the WC but they were all 17.5"'!!
As usual, the weatherman goofed up....we got a little rain but we used the Bimini to keep us dry. It got nice and warm too!
Matt was also out there with his crew and he was catching a few cats but no herring.
There was another sad note to the expedition....we saw lots of police action as they hauled tail up the river. After we talked to one of the Harbor cops, he said they found another body. this one came from up river. that's three already this year.
The last fish we caught was right before we pulled in lines.....almost but no rock dinner for Jimmy tonight!!!
