there was a decent bite on.
i was throwing J&P.
my first bite was on a reel up, to make another cast.
this week on 'the bass pros" a featured technique was jig swimming.
so i started swimming mine and getting bit pretty good.
makes me think about a green/yellow J&P / with a like- colored pork frog.
there are so many bull frogs in that pond i am thinking it may be a winner.
anyway, this is a new technique i am having fun w/ lately
my shoulder cant take any more rattle traps.
on a side note, the selection of tackle at dick's in dulles is suffering.
very few jigs to buy
fewer trailers
no zoom super chunks , or strike king rage craws.
walmart is even worse.
they have been peddling the same pile of picked over baits and lines for eight months.
'bout time to go online for these needs
too bad there arent any good local shops anymore, to my knowledge at least

Greentops.....but it's a long way south on 95.....almost to Richmond.
The other good one is Warbirds off Rt. 1 in Woodbridge....they cater to bass guys.

I know I said this in another thread, but seriously try Susquehanna Tackle at http://sfttackle.com/
I placed an order with them and an order with Bass Pro on the same day recently. I received my order from SFT the NEXT DAY. The Bass Pro order didn't even ship for two days and then took another 3 days to get to me. Prices are good and they have most of what I need.

Agree with Susquehanna Tackle.....

You could try the Dicks in Fairlakes....they had both the Zoom Chunks and Rage Craws last week (also some of the Netbait trailers, which I also like). You will not of course have the same selection of colours as found online, but they had the basic greens, browns, blacks, etc.

At least Dicks has a decent stock of Uncle Josh's port frogs ...at least they did when I was in yesterday

Yeah I think dick's at dulles stinks too, fair lakes is much better selection-wise. I order most of my stuff online from tacklewarehouse.com, they have pretty much everything i need and they have good zoom-in photos for every color and size selection of bait they sell. Don't overlook the clearance bins at walmart and kmart-alot of times it's just old junk in there, but every once in a while you can get lucky and find something you like for really cheap. I found a bin full of old bandit 100's and 200's for $1.97 a piece at kmart in Herndon a few years back and got 20 of em for less than $50. Those little buggers are almost 5 bucks a pop now at dick's and I'm just now using up the last few I bought. Seems like the best time to go bargain-bin hunting is right after those big stores get remodeled or re-arrange their floor plans. Garage and yard sales are money too, alot of times you can find brand-new stuff for next to nothing.

Don't some of you know that guy Sherwood who works at dulles? Someone needs to tell that dude to step up his game and stock some quality product in that store, seems like fair lakes is never on the way to the honey hole

Speaking of bargain bins....I once found some great stuff at Sports Authority in Cascades. I have not been there lately though....

I do all my shopping online now. Tacklewarehouse is the best. If your order is over $50 you get free shipping.
