June 11th Report

It twas a windy Sunday and the parking lot was full. But by the time Lou and girlfriend arrived it was empty. (hour late) Very much a common thing for Lou. No worries.. As I was sure the wind would lay down soon. We launched and found leeward spots and proceeded to miss fish after fish. No hook ups for the first 2 hours but plenty of blow ups. We moved again and still missed fish again and again. I count 12 blowups by now. Time to change tactics with treble hooks and pop rs. Wind still blowing hard the tide ripped out. First hit on pop r and hook pulled. Dang nice one too. Then just like a switch, the wind stopped and we started catching fish. Fished past dark and did pretty good in the golden hour. Girlfriend was asleep in comfy chair as I held a fish up and she said " I smell fish" and woke up.
