Evern a blind squirel ...

... finds a fish during the red moon

OU and I hooked up at o'dark thirty to do some water I've done recently a couple times.

This time it was different.

We started catching them immediately and loosing them.  You could tell by the cussing.

Moon was red, air was like smoking cigs, river was ours.

Stumbled on the pattern after a few hours and it was a Cinderella session the rest of the day

Did I say there was allot of cussing due to missed strikes?  From both of us?

Here are two of the high lights

Then you would have THOROUGHLY enjoyed the afternoon with me!!  I caught most of my smallies on the fluke early in on the float. Then after noon, the cussing seemed to flow easily.  I was getting blowups or swirls in the fluke, waiting to feel the weight and setting the hook only to have it pop off in 4-5 seconds.  Pretty sure none would compare to George's pigs but they would have been bigger than the 13-14" I was getting.

But I did end up with 11, mostly on fluke with few on crankbait and swim bait.    And I wasn't working and I had fun sharing the river with George as always.

That first picture doesn't do the fish justice, it was thick and fat.  Congratulations on landing it.

It took a few hours as he said but once we knew the pattern, you could ignore the rest of the river and focus on the specific areas.  Add a little depth and the fish were there

Sweet!  Nice fish and good to see they were feeding actively.

I saw an absolute blitz early this morning.  I could not get a hookup though.  Over by about 6:15am.

Always wishin' I was fishin'
