Nights are much colder than last week.Water temps dropped considerably and made for a slow bite this Sunday. 3 carp hooked and two landed. Not bad for a winter day.
Had the whole crew there with 9 rods out.
It was a fun day.. As the sun went down it got plenty cold.

Sure was cold! Nice big carp with that golden color.

Do you eat them?
I've never eaten any I've caught, but eaten Asian-style fish balls made with carp and eaten carp in Chinese restaurants smothered in garlic and chili oil.

I have a buddy that is Samoan/Philippino that eats carp that he gets with a bow. He says to soak the chunked fillets in buttermilk overnight, then bread and fry next evening...............I haven't tried it yet.

Is that the "Joe" setting up the gear? He has become the carp whisperer.
I've heard that it's best to smoke them on a cedar plank with lots of EVOO and spices and then, when done, eat the cedar plank.

To be far, anything soaked in garlic & chili oil is going to be good

You got me on this ernie! I was all like sounds good...hmmm... and then bam! I got hit in the side of the head with the cedar plank. I grew up in PA and met a lot of people who eat Carp. I've tried a bowl of it too and it was good, but still not my choice if I have one. Guess I'm spoiled.
