4-25-22, "O"

The Leon and George crew joined me today. Ask them about the last time they fished together. Brrrrr!

We helped Bob splash his boat and then we put in.

It was overcast and cool with no wind. Until later when the wind came up a tad and made it cooler.

We stopped in between the bridges but it was slow going. Bob was firmly in place...

...and Leon got his skunk off.

Pics today were off a little...too much fish catching going on! lol Must have been the chilly east wind.

I didn't like the way the river was producing so I told Bob we were heading up and would report back.

Once up top, Leon started hammering them!

And both George and I took our skunks off as well.

After that...it was lights out for 2+ hours! And we called Bob over.

We had doubles..

It was as good as it gets!

I don't know how many times I said, "OK, let's move to another place" but I kept seeing schools of fish on the finder. We didn't move until almost quitting time.

Leon even caught a large Mouth!

Honestly, I have no clue how many we caught as I lost count early in the game. Leon was on fire right from the beginning. George and I would have spurts. We all had catches on consecutive casts,

3-4-5 times in a row. If I said we caught 100, I think that would be a bit light.

Lunch was as good as it gets since we were worn out!

That's 1/2 of my brat! Huge sandwich!

And...it was nice and sunny and warm when we ate lunch.

Great day!!

Thx again Ernie

One thing in common with all the pix, the big smiles - except for that one where the fish tried to jump out of my hands

Not sure how many I ended up with but action was good pretty much all day except the last 1/2 hour and a couple time wide open

The bacon burger at the end of the trip was the bomb

Another epic trip with Ernie and George!  Best shad outing I've had in a couple of years.  The brats at the cafe were excellent.  Always learn a lot on these outings and get a lot of laughs as well.  Tight lines!  Leon

In surfing terms, we call that a "Cinderella session"

In shad fishing terms...we just call it a heck of a day!

I thought it was "This is as good as it gets.  Unless you're Bob"

Bob caught this nice quill back carp today.

And I am happy to report that his daughter kicked his hiney today but the shad were a little harder to come by than Monday.

She beat me 27 - 18 and I loved every minute of it. She was on the maiden voyage of the C-Hawk in '86 and christened it with a 12" perch and 8# striper.
