After Bob's performance on Wednesday, catching 121 shad, we had extremely high expectations.

Tom was already catching some when we got there.

Miracles do happen and I caught the 1st shad!

But that didn't last long and Bob had me 5-1 in no time.

However, that took a while as the catching was very slow and sporadic.

We ran in to another friend, Don Pirro, and they were slow catching as well.

We chatted some and we just couldn't understated the dynamics other than we started at low tide and had and incoming all morning.

We started in Bob's hole but then I moved up above the footbridge where it was slow a s well.  So back down we went. Everywhere we tried, we caught 3-4 shad and then zippo for a while. Don and his buddy left early. Not like him to do so. We had a yakker fishing close by and I swear, I never saw him catch a fish!

But we kept at it, changing tempo until we got some. Here are some of the bigger ones.

I was actually doing some vertical jigging when this guy hit!

First yellow perch of the yer. I think this guy was dazed and confused because he was milting all over the boat when I was unhooking him!

We called it a day at 1pm...the brat and chili just could not wait any longer.

I was proud not to get bombed by Bob as I kept it close at 30-25!. Those 55 fish took a  ton of effort for sure.

At the ramp, we ran into Charlie Ippolito and Kyle Johnson, former members of the BRHS Fishing Club. Charlie has a really nice bass boat. It's so cool to see these guys as adults too!

Lunch was good!

Nice report.  Sorry to hear they were not as thick as Wednesday.  You still did pretty good and a Yellow Perch to boot!  Happy Earth Day.

Didn't really say they weren't thick. They were just sluggish. Tom has side scan and he saw tons! Bob and I also got a ton of hits and misses. More than usual!

I had 5-6  instances where I saw the shad swipe at my lure but not connect. Frustrating.

I missed quite a few on Wednesday and Emerson had a hard time getting connected.  If it wasn't a challenge, it would not be as much fun.
